Farida Hammad is currently the Director of Strategic Development and responsible for developing, diversifying and sustaining Mahatat’s model in the frame of its vision and mission. She has recently completed an MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in Media in Development. Her research traces the interplay between representation, spaces of expression and creative social movements. She has coordinated and participated in various projects around Egypt related to the use of art to highlight issues and challenge perception. Currently, she is merging elements of graphic narrative and public space by facilitating comic workshops that conclude with the distribution of comics in the street. In parallel to her work, Farida continues to develop her own skills in graphic storytelling and visual narrative.
